KEY TERMS

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)

OCT is an advanced imaging scan that produces detailed cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve. It allows us to detect subtle changes that may not be visible during a standard eye examination, helping with the early detection and ongoing monitoring of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.

Pentacam HR

The Pentacam HR creates highly detailed 3D images of the front surface of the eye, including the cornea. This technology helps us assess corneal health, identify conditions such as keratoconus and support accurate contact lens fittings. The scan is quick, comfortable and completely non-invasive.

Retinal Photography

Retinal photography uses specialised imaging technology to capture detailed photographs of the back of your eye, including the retina and optic nerve. These images help us monitor your eye health over time, detect subtle changes early and assist in identifying conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration.

Visual Field Testing

Visual field testing assesses your side (peripheral) vision and helps identify areas where vision may have been affected. It is commonly used to detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma and neurological disorders. The test is painless and provides valuable information about how well your eyes are functioning.

Digital Imaging

Digital imaging allows us to capture detailed photographs and scans of your eyes, providing a clearer picture of your overall eye health. These images support accurate diagnosis, early detection and ongoing monitoring of eye conditions while helping us explain your results in a clear and visual way.
